Julian Cote - Bio
Julian is a Ojibway musician from Bear Island, who resides in Whitefish
Lake First Nation. † He was the Music Producer for Darlene’s
Musically Driven Feature Film - Cradlesong. He wrote all original numbers
and score included in the film and on the Soundtrack.
He grew up jamming with his grandfather who could play any instrument
he picked up, and loved to play his banjo jamming to sweetgrass music.
†His musical influences are heavy rock, alternative rock, bluegrass,
classical music and traditional sounds. †
Like his grandfather Julian plays many instruments and can naturally
learn to play any new instrument he picks up. †He is mastering through
time his acoustic/electric guitar playing, the banjo, the digerdoo, the
piano and traditional drumming/singing. †
Julian’s past work can be found on the score/music of Darlene’s
past 4 short films, with two short films that screened at the Sundance
Film Festival in 2001 & 2002. Julian has been hired for many corporate
videos for score & audio recording. He has also worked with Darlene
as a Audio Technician and Audio Specialist.
He has an honest approach to music and loves to experiment with all forms
of music & sounds.
